Blast Zone is one of the leading manufactures of inflatable bounce houses. While Blast Zone makes both residential and commercial grade products, the majority of their products fall under the residential category. This means that the products are intended for children under the age of 12 and way up to 100 lbs. Blast Zone has been success because they have innovative quality products and correct price points. The quality their customers receive far exceeds the competitions when you examine price point to price point. Several retailers I spoke to in regards to Blast Zone kept coming back to one word in regards to this brand. "Value". That being said, this is the first in a series of reviews I will do examining the actual products. The Superstar Moonwalk is one of the best selling bouncers in the market. Its 11' x 11 bounce floor allows up to 5 children (under 100 lbs. each) to play at the same time. With such a big bounce floor, I was concerned that the overall foot print would be to large for a Mom like my self to manage. What is unique is the design maximizes the bounce area in the actual footprint. The exterior dimensions came out at 12' x 12' for the square bouncer are and then 3' x 3' where the slide area is. Don't forget that you need to have a safety zone that will not only accommodate the actual bounce house, but the blower and the blow tubes. I contacted Blast Zone and the customer service rep I spoke to recommended an area of 15' x 20' for the Superstar. While we are on dimensions, one of my favorite features of this bounce house was the fact that it was only 7' tall so it fits indoors on those rainy and cold days. While the jump area is a great selling point, this inflatable bouncer is loaded with standard features that you will find on every Blast Zone Bounce House. Standard features include:
The bouncers ships in one box weighing approximately 65 lbs. Inside the box was the unit itself, a repair kit, storage bag, stakes, carrying case and the blower. After unpacking the moonwalk, we proceeded to set it up. I was able to carry the bounce house by myself and my son carried the blower. Once we rolled it out and removed the packaging tissue from the unit we attached the blower. We originally forgot to close of the second attachment tube (used for rapid deflate) so air was not staying contained. After closing the second tube, it inflated in under a minute. My son is 3 years old but there are kids in the neighborhood ranging from 3 year old to 9 years old. There were up to 5 kids playing in it at any given time. My initial concern was the safety with five kids jumping at the same time. With the large jump surface, the kids had plenty of room to do their own thing. While my son and the younger kids had a ton of fun, I was really impressed how the older kids would not get out. In reviews of other inflatables that had other activities such as ball pits and slides, the older kids get bored quickly. This was not the case. In summary, this is one of the best inflatable bounce houses on the market. Quality is outstanding. Bright, bold colors make it attractive. As a parent it had all of the safety features to make me relax. As for the kids, they did not want to get out. I would recommend this product for families with kids of all ages. The big, wide open bounce floor allows this to be a bouncer small kids can grow in to and older kids can still have fun. Very impressed.
